The pictured Crown MA 5000vz delivers 1300w  into 8 ohms, 2000w into 4 ohms or 2500w into 2 ohms per channel in stereo mode and 5000w into 1 ohm in mono mode!   They are fan cooled (the fans aren’t quiet) they weigh a ton, and  can last for decades. When they do eventually fail, we can almost always repair/restore them.

The Crown MA600,  24×6, 1200, 2400 and 5000 Macro Tech series power amps are of the last generation of industrial grade analog power amps built by Crown (pre Harman) and they get our vote for best PA amplification ever made – if a bit heavy to lug around!.   Class A/B bipolar transistor output stages, fully analog transformer derived power supply with really well designed temp and current limiting, soft start mains, switched power banks for reduced output device dissipation, supervised fan convection, solid as rock robust monster power amps.

Nobody makes amps like this any longer for the advent of lightweight digitally supervised Class D and Class H modern designs. As impressive as the modern counterparts are, like many things today they are often near impossible to component level troubleshoot, not supported for long, and therefore often not repairable.
